Salmon in a sweet chilli glaze

tonight i cooked a feast for my housemates.... here is the recipe written in bad English.

what ya need:

  • four salmon fillets
  • carrots
  • peas
  • cauliflower
  • sweetcorn
  • coriander for garnish
  • glaze:
    • chilli to taste
    • half a small jar of honey
    • soy sauce
    • olive oil
    • juice of one lime
    • one clove of garlic, crushed
    • pepper

what ya do:

  1. chuck all the glaze ingredients into a measuring jug or something and stir it all round so the oil and everything is combined - get it how you like it. i reckon it should be kinda sweet and sticky, with enough chilli to knock yer housemates socks off. (but not enough to make them make a mess of the floor)
  2. put salmon fillets into bowl or something. pour over glaze mixture and get mucky making sure all the salmon is coated. leave to one side
  3. boil the veg in the normal way. i made an artistic bed of sweetcorn and peas, but do whatever, it's all good
  4. put some tin foil over the grill pan to save on washing up later.
  5. when the veg is nearly done, get the grill on about half heat, and stick the salmon fillets on the grill pan and shove under the grill (keep the glaze in bowl)
  6. sort your veg out and stick on plates
  7. when the salmon had turned less pink, turn over
  8. stick the glaze from the bowl in a frying pan and get it on the hob until it starts bubbling, then turn down a bit to a simmer
  9. put salmon fillets into frying pan with glaze for about 30seconds
  10. stick salmon onto plates and spoon over the glaze.
  11. garnish with coriander
  12. enjoy with a bottle of red. yum
this is what it's supposed to look like:

and this one, which doesn't do my housemates any justice. sorry guys
